Third Take: Overreacting Isn't Healthy

The past two weeks have been… edutaining. It’s been entertaining in some respects, and I have been so busy it’s kind of silly, but it has also been profoundly educational.

I wanted to write this after numerous webinars, consultations, conversations, and email/text communications because I think maybe most of the industry is vastly over-reacting to the NAR Settlement. It is 110% understandable; when the earth quakes, it’s hard to keep your balance. The disruption to the MLS system and the entire way that brokers and agents have been compensated for 100 years is not small. We all have seen numerous suggestions, some of them formally adopted as policy, that are trying to “get ahead of the curve” as it were.

And yet, it is precisely in such crisis that one must keep calm. There is a difference between smart prepping and emotional overreaction. Sometimes, strategy dictates patience.

Let’s talk about it.
