Florida Brokerage Sues Its Client
Congratulations on the win, but uh... good luck to you!
I am busy with my year end publishing calendar, what with Seven Most Interesting People and Seven Predictions, not to mention a hundred other things to do. But a recent story from HousingWire caught my eye and I thought I would… ah… provide a service to the industry.
The story is here: Buyer owes $24K after breaching buyer broker agreement, arbitration finds. It is behind a paywall, but I think it’s worth reading, and I’ll summarize the main points below.
For the TL;DR crowd, let me put it as simply as I can. If you sue your clients for something like this, unless the client truly behaved egregiously, expect to have fewer clients going forward.
It seems like an obvious takeaway, but let’s get into it.
