Examining the Ideas from Opendoor Retail Investors

Examining the Ideas from Opendoor Retail Investors

Look, it’s the late summer doldrums for real estate industry news and happenings. The most interesting thing going on right now is the hype machine driving Opendoor’s shares higher. .

I’ve done two podcasts now, the latest one here, and written a fairly lengthy post on Opendoor’s latest pivot. But events keep happening that draw my eye.

The latest is a Twitter post (X post?) from Anthony Pompliano, the crypto-finance influencer who has emerged as a major leader in what he calls the “retail movement” around Opendoor. He put up a Formal Submission of Ideas From OPEN Shareholders in two images.

I thought it fun—for me at least—to look at these suggestions from an industry perspective, knowing what I know about Opendoor, how the industry works, and questions and issues I have already raised.

I had Grok OCR the images to extract text; I think they’re accurate but I’m not actually going to spellcheck too exhaustively. This is not investment advice; this is analysis from an industry-knowledgeable perspective.
