Compass Wants No-VOW for Delayed Marketing

The obvious next move, but this one... is questionable...

Compass Wants No-VOW for Delayed Marketing

In my previous coverage of the not-dead-merely-resting Clear Cooperation Policy, I pointed out how the new Delayed Marketing status is nearly-everything that Compass wanted from it as it mirrors SFAR and MRED’s Coming Soon/Private Listings. With one exception: Delayed Marketing will be distributed to VOW, and may be displayed via VOW.

I said that the next big fight will be over VOW.

Well, that shoe has now dropped.

I received from readers—y’all are so amazing—news that Compass has already sent letters to various MLSs demanding that they make changes so that Delayed Marketing can’t be displayed on VOW.

As obvious as this demand is, this is one that MLSs really can’t accept, and I’m not certain what Compass is thinking with this demand. Let’s get into it.
